Junior trader role responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Leveraged Finance Trading Desk. Aims to deliver superior service to internal counterparties by driving and optimizing the effectiveness and efficiency of people, processes and technology thereby enhancing financial performance, increasing investment capacity, and managing risk. Builds the sustainable repeatable capabilities that support delivery of the highest standards of service and execution. Supports Traders in evaluating risk, booking risk, and tracking a trade front to back – with particular focus on pre and post trading effectiveness. Evaluates and ensures that operations meet company objectives, business needs, service agreements and relevant requirements. Works with Sales and Strategy to support all aspects of the trading business while learning the Credit markets.

Evaluates and ensures that operations meet company objectives, business needs, service agreements and relevant requirements. Essential Functions/Responsibility Statements:

  • Books trades, Escalates internal/external errors.

  • Reviews for exceptions.

  • If exceptions are found, confirms that internal and client procedures were followed, processing was on time and in line with regulations and no unnecessary steps were taken.

  • Checks exceptions identified by internal team members.

  • Prepares system-generated reports, notably Daily P&L and risk recaps

  • Sets standards for team’s report output to be shared with client teams.

  • Coordinates review of reports and the sharing of reports with applicable Middle and Back Office Operations teams.

  • Researches and analyzes industries and market data.

  • May be responsible for specific supervisory review and approval actions.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent degree and/or work experience, in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.

Work Experience:

  • 1-3+ of relevant experience in Sales & Trading.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of financial markets and Credit

  • Ability to be flexible, adapt to changing priorities and prioritize deadlines

  • Knowledge of due diligence and risk management requirements

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Strong technical and analytical skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to multi-task, and work towards tight deadlines

For NYC Job Applicants: The base annual salary range for this position is $110,000-$135,000 for the Analyst level and $175,000-$200,000 for the Associate level. The exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications and location.
