The Trustees of Columbia University in the City of New York Associate Research Scientist in New York, New York

The Department of Physics at Columbia University invites applications for a position at the rank of Associate Research Scientist. This position will begin on June 1, 2023. The position requires a PhD degree in Physics or a related field and 3+ years experience. Potential research topics include the physics of ultracold dipolar molecules and their quantum phases.

Suitable candidates will conduct research in the Atomic, Molecular, and Optical (AMO) Physics group at the Department of Physics; manage a variety of collaborations with academic labs and national labs and contract research organizations; and will mentor undergraduate and graduate students. The successful candidate will participate in the preparation and submission of grants and related fund-raising activities, and preparation of publications and patents.


Minimum Qualifications:

This position requires a Ph.D. degree in Physics or a related field, and 3+ years research experience. Postdoctoral experience in the areas of ultracold dipolar molecules and their preparation and investigation is preferred.
