The Role

We are seeking Digital Transformation Consultant who can shape our clients’ digital transformation journeys, starting from business possibilities through to envisioning and guiding the execution of the corresponding large-scale transformation of the IT landscape and organization, all in the context of delivering sustainable added value for the business. You work with customers, your Kyndryl peers, and business partners in an agile and collaborative fashion to ascertain and communicate the value of IT to the business, understand how to use IT to help drive business innovation, define and transform IT organizations to successfully incorporate and leverage transformation drivers such as Cloud, Agile patterns, Data and AI, Modern Operations and cross-vendor service integration and management. Digital transformation thought leaders should establish vision and value and communicate it to the business and technical audiences and stakeholders?

  • The Digital Transformation Consultant designs and transforms IT organization to drive successful digital transformation of the business

  • A holistic view across organizational models, people, processes, roles and technology and an understanding of the multiple inter-dependencies across these dimensions is critical. In addition, an ability to understand business models and objectives and align IT resources to them is vital

  • Additional critical skills include: strategic thinking, a strong understanding of transformation program management and governance and the ability to develop strong business cases

  • With digital transformation challenging businesses worldwide, a Digital Transformation Consultant will be comfortable taking disruption and turning it into a competitive advantage. Your role is to develop transformation strategies and define and guide the execution of the corresponding transformation journeys, incorporating business objectives and technology evolution that will support and advance the enterprise’s business strategy for years to come

Responsibilities

  • Capture and understand client business models and objectives.

  • Understand and qualify the benefits of a digital transformation for the business

  • Work with business developers, business analysts, IT leadership and enterprise architects to align IT resources to current and future business objectives

  • Assess the maturity of business-IT alignment

  • Define and apply business modeling techniques such as business value stream mapping and business component modeling

  • Understand and assess the impact of large-scale drivers of IT transformation such as Cloud, Agile practices, Data and Analytics, AI and more on an IT organization

  • Capture and assess the maturity of an IT operating model

  • Understand and position the key capabilities in a modern IT operating model such as Design Authority, Modern Operations, Service Integration, FinOps, DevSecOps and Platform Engineering in the context of a hybrid, heavily sourced IT organization

  • Define a future IT organization and operating model to help the IT drive the achievement of business objectives

  • Working from the current and future business objectives, define a transformation strategy and roadmap to help client’s IT organization drive the achievement of lasting, sustainable business value

  • Establish and guide the execution of a transformation program, including program governance and the alignment with IT and corporate governance

  • Position, establish and guide the evolution of a joint client / Kyndryl Center of Excellence as an enabler of the transformation

  • Define compelling business cases for the proposed transformation

  • Work with IT leadership and enterprise architects to translate strategic business/ IT alignment into specific enterprise architectures to underpin the transformation strategy and roadmap

  • Understand and evaluate the impact of IT strategic decisions and guiding principles on the success of a transformation strategy

  • Understand and evaluate the impact of strategic IT vendor selection and position

  • Understand and qualify the risk of vendor dependency

  • Ability to position and understand business impact analysis on IT

  • Ability to understand the impact of regulated industries on IT positioning and strategic / operational IT decisions

  • Develop suitable enterprise architecture strategies and roadmaps based on customer requirement analysis, guiding principles and business drivers

  • Work with IT leadership to envision, design, and direct the technical implementation of business initiatives

If you are hired, the anticipated compensation range for the position is $123,740 to $296,980 based on a full-time schedule. Your ultimate compensation may vary depending on your geography, job-related skills and experience. For part time roles, the compensation will be adjusted appropriately. The pay or salary range will not be below any applicable state, city or local minimum wage requirement.

This position will be eligible for Kyndryl’s discretionary annual bonus program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Kyndryl’s applicable plans. You may also receive a comprehensive benefits package which includes medical and dental coverage, disability, retirement benefits, paid leave, and paid time off. Note: If this is a sales commission eligible role, you will be eligible to participate in a sales commission plan in lieu of the annual discretionary bonus program.

Who You Are

Required Professional and Technical Expertise :

  • 10+ years of IT work experience across multiple areas of IT consulting, with 5+ years IT Strategy and Transformation experience

  • Proven experience in a range of business and technology lead roles, including IT strategy development, enterprise and solution architecture, digital transformation, IT business case development and shaping and architecting large scale business and technology transformation

  • Strong knowledge in IT organizational design

  • Strong knowledge in IT business case definition

  • Proven capability for defining digital / IT transformation programs within large and complex environments, working with industry-leading experts in their respective fields, delivering strategic business outcomes

  • Experience in designing, implementing, and managing IT and transformation governance including but not limited to review boards, incorporation of external suppliers and partners, alignment to corporate governance and defining guiding principles and guardrails

  • Experience with the transformational impacts and benefits of topics such as advanced technologies, cloud computing, digital disruption, agile and technology innovation

  • Experience applying IT4IT, CoBIT, SIAM or ITIL methodologies

  • Experience in understanding enterprise architectures based on TOGAF and other equivalent frameworks

  • Experience in documenting complex systems, clearing articulating current state, future state, and transition steps

  • Ability to synthesize and simplify complex business requirements into simple and elegant solutions

  • Ability to convey complex technical ideas to the understanding of a non-technical audience

  • Proven ability to coach and develop others

  • Awareness of Agile practices and their impact on the IT organization

  • Understanding of the organizational requirements to successfully adopt and run DevOps practices and SRE / Platform Engineering.

  • Experience in development and consumption of reusable assets

Preferred Professional and Technical Expertise :

  • MBA or equivalent professional experience as a Digital Transformation Consultant with the general skills, background and experience described above, you are specialized and experienced in one or more of the following four focus areas:

  • IT Strategy & Operating Models: You have a deep understanding of developing, evaluating and executing Digital / IT Strategies, aligned to business objectives and strategic goals. You are also able to evaluate and define an appropriate IT Operating Model, that will enable the IT Organization to successfully operate, manage and govern the future state IT organization as described in the Digital / IT Strategy. Additionally, you understand and are able to appropriately shape and position IT Governance as part of an overall Corporate Governance, while successfully integrating key external IT Service providers

  • IT Process / Service Management: You have a deep understanding of and are very experienced in the areas of IT Processes, IT Service Management and Service Integration. You understand the impact on and the dependencies between the IT organization (people, process, roles and responsibilities) and the IT Service Landscape. You understand the impact and intricacies of a modern heavily sourced IT with a strong dependency on external services such as hyperscalers, SaaS, Managed Services and out-tasking / out-sourcing. You are experienced in helping clients set up, implement, manage and govern integrated service landscapes at the levels of tooling, processes and organization

  • FinOps: You have a strong background in IT Financial Management and Cloud Costing. You understand how to define and structure IT cost models, evaluate and implement tools and organizational models to help clients successfully optimize and manage their IT spend

  • Sustainability: You have a deep understanding of the impact of sustainability requirements across the entire IT Organization. You are able to define and execute Sustainability Strategies. You are able to define relevant KPIs and sustainability tracking mechanisms in the context of programs to achieve specific, achievable sustainability goals. You are able to define meaningful and impactful short, medium and long-term measures to address the desired sustainability targets.

Certifications:

  • Certification in IT4IT, CoBIT or ITIL methodologies
