Touro College Assistant to the Registrar, Transfer Credit Operations in New York, New York

Touro College invites applications for a full-time Junior Transfer Credit Specialist position. This is an entry-level position, and Touro College is seeking an individual with excellent communications skills and attention to detail to perform transfer credit analysis. The incumbent would be responsible to determine transfer credit eligibility, updates and maintains student information data system and resource material files. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment without sacrificing accuracy is a must. Excellent data-entry skills required.

  • Conduct preliminary work and preparation on transcripts received and conducts transfer credits evaluation work.

  • Record the receipt of a transcript in the student information system.

  • Record appropriate transfer credit in the student information system.

  • Provide instructions and additional information, as needed, to transfer students regarding the status of their evaluation.

  • Maintain confidentiality of student records in compliance with the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).

  • Handle questions from students, faculty and general public.

  • Other tasks assigned by the supervisor.

    Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or significant work towards a bachelor’s degree.

  • Working knowledge of Banner or working knowledge of another online student information systems a plus.

  • Knowledge of Family Educational & Rights & Privacy Act Regulations a plus.• Ability to quickly learn different policies and databases.

  • Proven ability to conduct independent research and apply analytical thinking.

  • Ability to plan and manage daily workload to meet production goals.

  • Ability to develop cooperative working relationships with students, faculty, and staff.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proven problem-solving skills with a strong sense of responsibility in meeting deadlines.
