The anticipated salary range for this role is between $103,000.00 and $206,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.

Role Description

Senior Cloud Engineer by utilizing AWS and Azure for 3 SMBC group entities. This role resides within the Nikko Information Technology Group and you will be part of an established Cloud Engineering team. You will work in a dynamic and fast-paced team environment under SRE team Lead. You will be working with peers collaboratively for project tasks in a very feedback receptive environment and also be expected to work independently.

Role Objective

  • Design cloud infrastructure that is secure, scalable, and highly available on Azure/AWS.

  • Design and improve CI/CD pipeline on Azure/AWS.

  • Work collaboratively with software engineering to define infrastructure and deployment requirements.

  • Provision, configure and maintain Azure/AWS cloud infrastructure defined as code.

  • Administer and troubleshoot Linux based systems.

  • Troubleshoot problems across a wide array of services and functional areas.

  • Build and maintain operational tools for deployment, monitoring, and analysis of Azure/AWS infrastructure and systems.

  • Escalate and solve any technical issues that can prove risk to production systems and business.

  • Support and produce migration plan for network infrastructure of cloud adoption without interrupting the business.

  • Create and maintain high quality documentation for architecture implementation plan, as this can be used for reusable patterns and trends for any future cloud solutions.

  • Be proactive in providing technical guidance to business functionality developers when there are challenges/obstructions to adopting cloud platform.

Qualifications and Skills

  • 10 + years of experience

  • Bachelors Degree required

  • Experience building and maintaining AWS infrastructure (Airflow, Lambda, RDS, API Gateway, CodeCommit, CodePipeline, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, S3, EKS, ECRS, ECR, Transfer Family, EC2).

  • Experience building and maintaining Azure Databrics infrastructure (Create big data and provide Web UI for external Data cosumer).

  • Hands-on experience deploying and managing infrastructure with AWS/Azure Cloud Development Kit and Teraform.

  • Solid foundation of networking and Linux/Windows administration.

  • Experience with Docker(Container), GitHub, Liquibase, Jenkins and deploying applications on Azure/AWS.

  • Ability to learn/use a wide variety of open source technologies and tools.

  • Good understanding of finance and able to adapt quickly to business technology landscape is a plus.

  • Strong communication skills and language bridging between development team and business stakeholders.

  • Technical understanding of application design and SDLC life cycle.
