The Administrative Assistant 1 will perform office support and clerical work for the Harry Van Arsdale School for Labor Studies.

In order to maintain a welcoming environment for prospective students, students, community members, and visiting university staff, the duties of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Report and work directly with the Assistant to the Dean

  • Maintains school scheduling and event calendars

  • Assist with logistics of all programs conducted in person or remote

  • Orders and distributes supplies

  • Creates conference or event materials

  • Creates, maintains and enters information into spreadsheets and databases

  • Provide excellent customer service, including telephone, e-mail or in person inquiries

  • Actively participate in university activities

    Job Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

Candidates must have permanent appointment in an Administrative Assistant 1 New York State classified position (or be eligible for transfer) or be reachable for appointment on the current NY State Civil Service eligible list for Administrative Assistant 1.

OR

Candidates must have permanent appointment in an Administrative Assistant 1 New York State classified position (or be eligible for transfer) or be reachable for appointment on the current NY State Civil Service eligible list for Administrative Assistant Trainee 1.

OR

For Administrative Assistant Trainee 1 or 2: one year of permanent service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of Civil Service Law.
