OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Controller, this role will managing the Accounts Payable department

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage an Accounts Payable team in all daily functions, ensuring that vendor invoices are coded, processed and paid accurately and timely in accordance with firm guidelines; automate manual processes; train, mentor and evaluate staff.

  • Assist with the implementation of Chrome River.

  • Prepare periodic financial reports and statements.

  • Generate month-end close reports and assist with management package.

  • Prepare general ledger account analysis and reconciliations.

  • Assist with insurance policy renewals.

  • Assist with annual budget; calculate and investigate variances.

  • Prepare reports and analyses for the annual external review.

MUST HAVES

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.

  • 5 recent years in a law firm Accounting or Finance department.

  • 2 years of recent experience managing an Accounts Payable team.

  • 2 years of recent Aderant experience.

  • Mastery in Excel (pivot tables, V-lookups, filters, charts, etc.).

  • Foreign currency experience.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Ability to create, analyze, summarize and articulate complex financial reports.

  • Experience automating manual processes.

  • Self-motivated, proactive, exceptional work ethic, deadline-oriented, with the ability to work well under pressure, prioritize and multi-task while ensuring the highest levels of accuracy and quality.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; superb interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain good working relationships with others, and interact with employees, vendors and professionals at all levels; pleasant and cooperative attitude; team player.

  • Hrs 9-5pm Hybrid schedule
