The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

The Academic Program Coordinator will report to the Director of Education Programs in the Department of Epidemiology. The Coordinator will work closely with staff, departmental education leadership, faculty instructors, and students to support multiple aspects of the department's education programs, particularly departmental master's programs and, to some extent, doctoral programs.

Responsibilities

  • Work with faculty instructors to prepare courses and provide teaching assistant support for courses throughout the semester - 25%
  • Support department-based Certificates with seminars, events, budgets, expense management, and curricular review and updates - 15%
  • Support the MPH student Applied Practice Experience (APEx) program placements and related culminating Master's Student Day events - 25%
  • Manage Epi Department alumni relations, including networking opportunities for current students and recruiting alumni for participation in department events - 15%
  • Support the department's Master's and Curriculum Committees, including attending meetings, note-taking, reviewing and preparing course syllabi for schoolwide approval, and updating the department website with education-related material - 15%
  • Perform other related duties & responsibilities as assigned/requested, including supporting special education initiatives - 5%

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors degree and 3 years of experience

Preferred Qualifications

A Master's degree in epidemiology or another field of public health is required, as is an interest in Public Health education.

The successful candidate must possess a high level of initiative, organization, ability to multi-task, and excellent written and oral communication skills. Other critical skills include the ability to anticipate obstacles and proactively and creatively problem-solve interpersonal skills, and flexibility in dealing with a range of working styles and competing demands.
