The Fountainhead Group, Inc. Quality Assurance Inspector - 1st Shift in New York Mills, New York

Responsible for all first piece, incoming, in process and finished goods inspections as directed by the Q.C. Manager or Supervisor. Maintain the appropriate records to comply with the company and customer documentation requirements. The Quality Control Inspector is also responsible for the evaluation and documentation of all Customer Returns.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct First Article Inspection on all new products and / or revised products.

  • Inspection throughout the entire manufacturing process including inspection of raw materials, parts, sub-assemblies and finished goods.

  • Insuring appropriate action is taken when non-conforming material is found. Depending on the criticality of the defect this could include recommending to production to stop the production line

  • Insuring all operators are processing or assembling material according to Work Orders and / or BOM. All discrepancies must be brought to the attention of the Supervisor, Assistant Q.C. Manager and Q.C. Manager

  • Documenting all performed inspections as well as all non-conforming product found during the inspection process.

  • Creating DMR’s in Epicor for all non-conforming product.

  • Operating basic measuring devices like micrometers, calipers, height gages, etc.

  • Following all Q.C. procedures outlined in the High Level Procedure Book

  • Following all Quality Plans / Test Procedures outlined in the QAP / Test Book

  • Responsible for the examination, disposition and documentation of all Customer Returns.

  • Maintain good housekeeping and safety in all of the Quality Control work areas

  • Prompt completion of all tasks assigned by the Assistant Q.C. Manager, Q.C. Manager or Director of Quality

  • All other tasks so assigned.

Who You Are:

  • High school diploma or equivalent education required

  • Prior experience in Quality Control and/or Manufacturing preferred

  • You are detail-oriented, capable of reviewing and documenting a high volume of product evaluations

  • You are a skilled written and verbal communicator

  • You possess excellent time management skills and can prioritize various tasks as assigned by the Quality Control Manager to ensure their completion in a timely manner

  • You are capable of operating basic measuring devices (such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, etc.)

  • You are a team player who likes to work collaboratively
