Description

Are you a seasoned user experience designer that loves learning, and is passionate about the vision of scaling best-in-class ad products? Here at Amazon Ads Brand Innovation Lab, we are looking for a seasoned UX Designer to join us as we streamline innovations which have been incubated and are now ready to become products, widely available to our end-customers. In this role, you will be making what was previously custom and complex seem simple. You’ll be involved in all aspects of product development, working collaboratively with user research, engineering, and product management to bring it to life.

In the UXD role on our team you will be responsible for scaling what was previously custom through solid design deliverables such as complex workflows, wireframes, user interface designs, interaction models, prototypes and shipping product. You have a comprehensive understanding of the current state of web technology and best practices, with a critical awareness of implications on user-centered design and functionality. You will additionally be responsible for identifying improvements in cross-team project and process improvements and methods that improve delivery efficiency. You are detail-oriented, comfortable working on technical teams, skilled in using data to make decisions and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key job responsibilities

  • Create user-centered designs by considering market analysis, data, customer feedback, user research and technical constraints/opportunities.

  • Quickly and thoroughly create user flows, wireframes, design mockups, and prototypes to effectively conceptualize new product initiatives.

  • Relentlessly simplify and distill complex processes into intuitive and elegant UI.

  • Establish and maintain detailed user-interface patterns and specifications—working closely with developers to see your design through to deployment.

  • Communicate complex, interactive design concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization.

  • Improve design patterns, standards, methods, and processes.

  • Work closely with engineering to effectively incorporate capabilities and constraints of the technology stack.

  • Apply best design practices to arrive at the right customer outcome.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of design experience

  • 3+ years of delivering design solutions as a UX designer or interaction designer experience

  • Have an available online portfolio

  • Experience prototyping (HTML, XHTML, JavaScript, CSS, Flash or Flash Catalyst, or Axure)

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of mass-market consumer web / mobile products experience

  • Experience working in a collaborative team and working directly with developers for implementation of designs

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $94,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $184,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
