Amazon Payments is reimagining the future of how customers pay for things both on Amazon and off. If you have a passion for brainstorming, customer research, concepting and prototyping and system design, we’d love for you to help us create a vision for the next generation of payments.

Key job responsibilities

As a Senior UX designer for the Payments Design Team, you will work on a highly collaborative team of seasoned UX professionals. We are building a unified payment experience that will make it easier for customers to discover and utilize modern payment methods with ease. We are revolutionizing the Designer/Developer process, by building a comprehensive designs system which will make it easier to drive improvements to the Payments experience.

You enable user-centric strategies and systems design thinking to improve not only products and services but also the full end-to-end user experience. Practice a holistic approach to the buyer experience, with focus not just on pay, but on the entire journey from pre-purchase (education, awareness, incentive, acquisition) to payment (click through, confirmation, security), through to post transaction (communication, tracking, sharing, social).

About the team

The Amazon Payments Design team designs the global shopping experience for Amazon customers wanting to leverage their account and benefits with external merchants, in-store and online. We own and design the features that make it easy for customers to discover, evaluate, and transact with Merchants.

Our team is uniquely positioned to drive Innovation - leveraging insights from customer and merchant research, defining problem statements that address pain points and opportunities, ideating on solutions, building prototypes, and testing/validating with customers. This work is critical to deliver unique, customer focused experiences that differentiate us and create a unique customer experience.

Basic Qualifications

  • 6+ years of UX designer or interaction designer experience

  • Have an online portfolio or samples of work on resume, demonstrating experience creating great end-to-end, user-centered design solutions and patterns, across desktop and mobile devices

  • Experience acquiring user data (e.g., conducting usability studies, performing user research) and creating personas and journey maps

  • Experience defining and maintaining design patterns and UX standards

  • Experience with Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Cloud, or their functional equivalents

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in delivering design solutions for projects of large scope and complexity

  • Experience with UX design of complex workflows

  • Experience with design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign and prototyping in HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Ajax

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $113,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $211,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
