Google Software Engineer, Embedded, Pixel Power in New Taipei City, Taiwan

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 1 year of experience with embedded systems or Kernel/Linux development.

  • Experience with software development in Shell Scripting, Python, C, Automated Testing, C++.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.

  • 1 year of experience developing, maintaining, or testing software running on battery powered rechargeable computing devices.

  • Experience with software testing, testing automation, and testing setups.

  • Experience with power measurement tools (e.g., digital multi-meter, etc.).

  • Knowledge of mobile devices, including both hardware and software, and interactions between the two.

  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills.

  • Work with Pixel Test Engineering, Accessory Team, Support, Thermal, Performance teams, and Product Managers to identify gaps in test coverage for new and existing user journeys.

  • Identify opportunities for automation, design, develop, deploy, and monitor automated and semi-automated test plans and test cases to existing and new automated test infrastructure.

  • Design, develop, and deploy infrastructure and tools for the collection of logs and creation of reports from devices and testing infrastructure.

  • Develop and deploy tools for log analysis and reporting, detection of patterns, detection of outliers and software regressions.

  • Create test plans and software test cases, develop and maintain tools for auto-triage, and define guidelines for white glove testing.
