Ensuring Chart’s Success…

Chart’s New Prague, MN location is currently seeking candidates interested in the position of Machinist on the Day Shift. This position plays a key role in the manufacturing process of Chart’s products with the fabrication of parts and tools.

This position is on the day shift:

Day Shift: Monday - Friday; 5:45am-2:15pm

Overtime hours as needed.

What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be…

  • Fabricates and modifies parts to make or repair machine tools or maintain industrial machines

  • Designs and fabricates fixtures, as needed

  • Applies knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout and machining procedures

  • Machines parts to specifications using machine tools, such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, or grinders

  • Measures, examines, and tests completed units in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications

  • Complete documentation, electronic or paper, on all work performed

  • Understands and adheres to established safety and quality procedures

  • Maintains a clean work area and practices general housekeeping standards

  • Performs all tasks to ISO standards and requirements

  • CNC programming experience& familiarity with ISO procedures preferred

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Your Education Should Be…

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance.Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this role includes close vision.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, and vibration.Loud noise level in the work environment.

Your Professional Experience Should Be…

  • 2+ years of experience as a machinist

  • Experience using mills and lathes

  • 3+ years of CNC Pipe bending experience specifically on schedule 5 and 10 pipe is desired

  • Previous press brake or related CNC experience is preferred

  • Basic math skills (weight measurement, volume, distance, multiplication and division)

  • Read and interpret blueprints and design sketches

  • Attention to detail essential

  • Proven self - starter and ability to work independently

  • Able to work with both engineering and production staff

  • Experience in cost estimating and material needs

  • Proven ability to identify, reason and problem solve moderate to complex issues
