Duties: Motor Vehicle Operators drive any of a variety of motor vehicles including automobiles, buses, trucks, and ambulances in order to transport people, material, and equipment. Qualifications: • Knowledge of the Vehicle and Traffic Law as it applies to the safe and legal operation of vehicles operated.• Knowledge of the nature of cargo carried and any special handling required.• Knowledge of simple automotive repair and maintenance procedures.• Ability to physically operate assigned vehicles as required.• Ability to lift and carry crates, cartons, boxes, and other cargo onto and off of transport vehicles.

• A valid NYS CDL Class B (air brake endorsement) License OR Must obtain NYS CDL Class B (air brake endorsement) within 1 year of hire.Candidates must meet the posting qualifications required, meet the legitimate operating needs of the department or agency and have the ability to perform duties and responsibilities satisfactorily.
