City Of New Orleans Training Coordinator in New Orleans, Louisiana

Responsible administrative and professional work in conducting training on mandated topics for adolescent home personnel certifications including but not limited to CPR, First Aid and Approved Physical Restraint techniques. Work involves researching, developing, implementing and evaluating training for facility staff, volunteers and contract personnel to ensure appropriate performance and compliance with applicable standards, rules and regulations. Primary work functions include providing classroom and on-the-job training to facility staff; developing training and staff development curriculums; and coordinating staff training schedules as well as delivering annual mandated in- service training. Supervision is received from an administrative superior with work reviewed in the form of staff training successes, adherence to local, state and federal regulations and requirements and required reports; and related work as required.

Minimum Qualifications

EITHER: A Master's Degree in Sociology, Psychology, Social Work, Criminal Justice, Education, Training, Curriculum Development, Industrial Psychology or a closely related field from an accredited college or university*andthree (3) years professional experience as an instructor in a training and development program. At least one (1) year of this experience must have been in instructional design and course development for adult learners.

OR: A Bachelor's in Sociology, Psychology, Social Work, Criminal Justice, Education, Training, Curriculum Development, Industrial Psychology or a closely related field from an accredited college or university*andfive (5) years professional experience as an instructor in a training and development program. At least one (1) year of this experience must have been in instructional design and course development for adult learners.

Detention/Correctional experience is preferred.

This physical demands of this position include standing for long periods of time, bending, stretching, and reaching while demonstrating techniques; and, the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

A rating of training and experience, weighted 100%. All related previous experience will be considered for qualification purposes; however credit on the rating of training and experience will only be given for experience gained within the last ten (10) years.

Positions with Human Services Juvenile Justice Intervention Center require a one (1) year probationary period.
