The Sushi Chef role will be responsible for the Sushi Bar and operation of the Sushi function for our Vitascope Hall Restaurant and Banquet Operation. This position requires in-depth skills and knowledge of all kitchen and sushi operations. This individual must be capable of producing a consistent product to meet and exceed guests' needs in a timely manner. They are responsible for the daily monitoring of food production, quality and consistency, staffing levels and department training. This individual will also be responsible for menu creation in partnership with Executive Leadership and ordering of product. This person will need essential leadership skills and knowledge to include culinary education, cost control, communication skills, computer skills, organizational skills, guest contact experience and culinary teaching skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:

  • At least 3-4 years of Sushi Arts experience, in a leadership role

  • In-depth skills and knowledge of all kitchen operations

  • Possess strong leadership, communication, organization and relationship skills

  • Experience with training, basic financial management and customer service

  • Proficient in general computer knowledge

  • A true desire to exceed guest expectations in a fast paced customer service environment

  • Capable of producing a consistent product in a timely manner

  • Strong training and communication skills

  • Culinary education and/or on the job training, hotel experience preferred

  • Schedule flexibility, including holidays and weekends
