APTIM Recovery Project Manager in New Orleans, Louisiana

As an Emergency Recovery Analyst IV at APTIM, you will organize and lead key components of the company's emergency recovery and project management efforts. Your role will involve developing comprehensive recovery strategies, overseeing damage assessment teams, and ensuring seamless coordination of resources for effective rebuilding. You will be responsible for organizing complex data into actionable recovery plans, liaising with high-level stakeholders, and managing cross-functional teams to achieve recovery objectives. The Emergency Recovery Analyst IV utilizes advanced principles, theories, and techniques to solve complex problems and is expected to exercise significant judgment and initiative in performing their duties. This role requires strong leadership skills, as you will be guiding teams and influencing project directions. Regular intra-organizational and strategic external interactions will be a part of your role, with your work directly impacting the success of recovery projects. Qualifications: A university degree/diploma with 4-6 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Define and document project scope, objectives, and desired outcome.
  • Prepare a budget based on project scope.
  • Set and adhere to budgetary allocation.
  • Hire the right team, internally or externally, and provide training and coaching, if needed.
  • Estimate resource requirements, acquire it effectively and manage efficiently.
  • Design a work plan for each team member depending upon project requirement and member expertise.
  • Provide project updates to stakeholders as per demand and requirement.
  • Create and manage contracts with suppliers and vendors, ensuring timely deliveries.
  • Perform regular assessment of project execution to identify areas for improvement.
  • Be aware of industry best practices, techniques, and standards, and encourage team members to use them for effective project execution.
  • Track project performance periodically to ensure both short-term and long-term goals are met.
  • Create and maintain detailed project documentation.
  • Undertake risk management to minimize potential risks.
  • Use the right tools and techniques for easier project management.
  • Ensure project delivery is on time, as per scope and within the allocated budget.
  • Manage interdepartmental coordination to ensure smooth project execution.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 6-10 years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • Completed: at least 7 FEMA Independent Study Courses between the following course range FEMA IS-1000 - 1004, 1006 - 1022.
  • Strong written and oral communication
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, be self-motivated, and be adaptable in a fast paced, dynamic, deadline-driven environment.
