Gallo Mechanical Plumber/Pipefitting Foreman in New Orleans, Louisiana

JOB SUMMARY:

The Plumbing/Pipefitting Foreman will take the lead on our large plumbing projects. You will oversee our plumbing/pipefitting teams for installs, maintenance, and repairs of our clients' plumbing systems. Before the project begins, you will review blueprints with management to ensure you understand the scope, budget, and required timelines. You will travel to work sites and delegate tasks to team members. Our ideal candidate has at least five years of experience as a Journeyman Plumber, including supervisory roles.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides daily guidance, training, and direction to plumbing/pipefitting crews consisting of journeymen, mechanics, and apprentices/helpers.

  • Assembles, installs and repairs plumbing and medgas systems according to project specifications and appropriate trade and building codes. These systems may consist of pipes, fittings, fixtures and boilers for hydronic heating, water, medgas and drainage systems.

  • Supervises day-to-day operations on assigned plumbing tasks.

  • Ensures safety, budget, job quality, and timely completion of each assigned project.

  • Strong relationship building skills with field team, general contractors, owners/customers, and vendors to lead a positive work environment.

  • Studies job specifications, contract documents, BIM model, schedule, and drawings to plan procedures for construction on basis of starting and completion times and staffing requirements for each phase of construction, based on knowledge of available tools and equipment and various building methods.

  • Makes decisions by analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.

  • Requires Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for anyone entering and/or working on job site at all times.

  • IDEAL EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent and 5 years as a pipe fitter with experience in commercial plumbing; or equivalent combination of education (Technical School) and experience.

  • Uses basic math skills including geometry and trigonometry to make calculations for work.

  • Ability to read and utilize Pipefitter’s Blue Book.

  • This position requires working in diverse conditions including but not limited to mechanical equipment rooms with exposure to noisy operating equipment, extreme weather conditions, precarious places, and risk of electrical shock (high voltage).

  • This position is highly physical and requires regular use of hands, fingers, walking, stooping, and kneeling. It requires employees to regularly lift and or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and or move more than 50 pounds.
