Instrument Fitter Lead needed in Geismar, LA.

MUST have NCCER or MORE THAN 10 YRS of experience as an Instrument Fitter to qualify for this position.

English Basic Plus & Site-specific class required.

General Job Description:

To safely and efficiently bend and install pneumatic tubing.

Essential Duties and Skills:

  • Layout, measure, fabricate and install tubing trays

  • Bend and install single line and group tubing and fittings

  • Assist electricians when needed

  • Ability to recognize and avoid safety hazards and dangers

  • And other assigned duties

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required

  • Must have a valid driver’s license OR state ID

  • Must be able to work independently with little to no supervision

  • Must possess the ability to speak with customers and various divisions on an as needed basis

  • Must have intermediate knowledge of with Microsoft Office

Physical Requirements, in a given day include, but are not limited to:

  • ability to sit (50%), stand (80%) and walk (80%) for prolonged periods of time

  • ability to climb ladders (up to 50%) and work from elevated work surfaces

  • ability to walk up and down stairs (possibly several flights)

  • ability to lift up to 25 pounds

  • when required, wear all necessary PPE and clothing

  • ability to work in all elements (hot, cold, rain, snow, etc.) for prolonged periods of time

  • ability to work around loud noises (ear plugs are provided) up to 75% of the time while working
