Purpose and Essential Duties :
The Financial Analyst will monitor all financial aspects of Energy Delivery projects, which cross multiple operating divisions of the Company. The position has overall responsibility for reviewing consolidated project financial results and communicating with project teams and management regarding those results as well as working with the Division Executive in developing and monitoring annual budgets. Specific responsibilities include:
Monthly financial review of expected contract values, change order exposure, consolidated cost-to-date, forecasted cost and anticipated gross profit:
Regularly review project financial performance to validate anticipated gross profit while identifying potential risk
Full analysis of actual results against budget and present estimates
Participate in monthly meetings to communicate financial results, findings and suggestions to project and executive level management
Regularly review cash position of projects
Lead the annual budget process and prepare division budget
Support division and project team management with an understanding of specific financial details such as jurisdictional sales and use tax requirements for project locations; adherence to any project specific programs (i.e. energy savings guarantees, insurance, owner direct purchases, sales tax reimbursement, etc.)
Ensure project management and project administrative support personnel are adequately trained to utilize financial tools and adhere to policies related to procurement and financial management of projects
Continue personal development by obtaining knowledge from lessons learned as well as industry and technology resources to suggest improvements and drive profitability
This position is Full-Time Exempt, and reports to the Chief Financial Officer.
Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years accounting experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business
Working knowledge of GAAP, including an understanding of ASC 606 and consolidation accounting required
Construction accounting experience preferred with mechanical construction or other self-perform specialty contractor experience a plus
Proficiency in Microsoft Office software required (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
Experience with PowerBI or similar dashboard reporting tools a plus
Experience with accounting and budgeting tools required
Strong problem-solving ability and technological skills desired including the ability to understand complex financial models
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
Well-versed in the industry and the Company’s competitors.
Excellent multitasking skills, with the ability to perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary.
Travel Requirements :
Infrequent travel to Company locations. Approximately, 10% of time will be spent traveling.
