Children's Hospital of New Orleans is a leader in Pediatric care throughout the Southeast region.

We are seeking a dynamic Clinical Leader in the NURSING ADMINISTRATION department. The mission of making care available to all children has allowed Children's to grow as an organization.

Children's Hospital is a not-for-profit medical center offering the most advanced pediatric care for children from birth to 21 years. With over 40 pediatric specialties and more than 400 physicians, it is the only full-service hospital exclusively for children in Louisiana and the Gulf South.

Position Summary: Directs activities of the Patient Care Units. Participates in the day to day operations of the department, under the supervision of the Department Director. Promotes excellence in nursing practice. Facilitates and participates in departmental and/or organizational education goals and initiatives. Assures that areas of responsibility adhere to relevant safety, regulatory, certification and/or accreditation standards.

The Staff RN is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for neonates, infants, toddlers, school-age children, adolescents and young adults for a designated time frame and provides care to those patients via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the therapeutic environment, treatment and modalities and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required. Current Louisiana Nursing License. CPR/PALS certification is required.

  • Three (3) years of management/supervisory experience in healthcare setting preferred.

  • Obtain specialty certification in area of employed responsibility as approved by the Unit Director and CNO within 12 months of obtaining position. Must have the ability to work successfully in a stressful environment, relate well to all customers, and maintain expanding knowledge and use of hospital information systems.
