Gallo Mechanical Superintendent – Commercial Mechanical Construction in New Orleans, Florida

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage project costs

  • Manage field labor

  • Manage subcontractors

  • Achieve safe, on-time and under-budget completion of projects

Job Responsibilities

  • Review submittals for accuracy and compliancy

  • Identify potential change orders

  • Manage Customer relations

  • Conduct weekly safety meetings

  • Attend cost, job and project schedule review meetings

  • Manage manpower needs

  • Interpret plumbing and HVAC drawings for craft installation

  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate on-site functions

  • Perform material take-offs, ordering tools, materials, and equipment in a timely fashion to maximize field productivity

  • Coordination of installation between trades and coordinate sub-contractor progress

  • Ensure all on-site employees comply with OSHA standards, MCAA work rules and Quality control guidelines.

  • Schedule equipment deliveries with GC and periodic inspections by governing authorities

  • Administer construction contract

  • Monitor labor reporting, job cost reviews and prepare time sheets, two-week look-a-heads, daily logs, and safety audits

  • Monitor project specific building information modeling, review shop drawings for accuracy and efficiency, set delivery schedules for the roll-out of shop drawings, and document any revisions to the same for as-built documents.

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years verifiable experience as an HVAC and Plumbing Superintendent

  • At least 5 years of experience in large commercial construction (hotels, office buildings, hospitals, casinos, etc.)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proven leadership and supervisory skills

  • Team Player

  • Organizational and planning skills

  • Must be detailed oriented

  • OSHA 10-hour certification (minimum)

  • Other state licenses a plus
