Porter and Chester Institute Education Administrative Assistant in New London, Connecticut

The Education Administrative Assistant is the welcoming reception point for PCI and YTI Campuses. Therefore, the most important job duties for this position are to portray a professional, friendly, courteous and efficient demeanor when interacting with all perspective students, family members, and visitors as well as within house personnel. Additionally, this position provides administrative support to the Campus Director of Operations & Education, as well as the Admissions and Educational Funding departments as needed. Duties include general clerical, receptionist and project based work.

The Education Administrative Assistant will…

  • Provide general clerical and administrative support

  • Answer student and staff questions in a timely manner OR refer to appropriate persons in a timely manner

  • Generate appropriate paperwork and forms.

  • Maintain office supplies

  • Assist with special events and activities

  • Assist with Department mailings, correspondence and record keeping

  • Assist in projects as needed.

  • Maintain databases and other electronic records as assigned

  • Runs daily/weekly/monthly reports as assigned

    Position Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; business school, Associates degree or equivalent is preferred

  • 3-5 years work experience as an administrative assistant, office management or reception area experience

  • Ability to operate standard office machines

  • Proficiency in word processing, spread sheets and data base software

  • Knowledge of efficient office procedures and office etiquette

  • Ability to speak in a clear and understandable manner and write legibly

  • Good working knowledge of English, grammar, spelling and punctuation
