Pena has expertise in treating chronic diabetes, obesity/overweight, among other conditions Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Endocrinology APP – Nurse Practitioner to join our dynamic team in New Hyde Park, NY. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in endocrinology and possess excellent clinical and interpersonal skills. As an Endocrinology APP, you will work closely with our team of endocrinologists to provide high-quality care to patients with endocrine disorders. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients and contribute to the advancement of endocrinology research and practice. Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including medical history review, physical examinations, and diagnostic testing. Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging studies, and other diagnostic procedures as necessary. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with endocrine disorders, in collaboration with supervising physicians. Prescribe medication and provide patient education on medication usage, side effects, and potential interactions. Perform minor procedures, such as thyroid biopsies and insulin pump management, under the supervision of a physician. Monitor patients' progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly to achieve optimal outcomes. Coordinate care with other healthcare providers, including specialists, nurses, and dietitians, to ensure comprehensive and integrated patient care. Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including documentation of patient encounters, treatment plans, and follow-up care. Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current on advancements in endocrinology practice and research. Adhere to all regulatory and compliance guidelines, including HIPAA and OSHA standards, to ensure patient confidentiality and safety. Requirements and Preferences Master’s degree from an accredited school of nursing. Current license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in New York State, and current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State. Board certification as a Nurse Practitioner. Qualifications Two or more years of clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner at a physician practice or in a hospital within a clinical setting. Experience in endocrinology, weight management, and/or obesity medicine is preferred. Excellent clinical skills, communication skills, and a strong commitment to providing excellent care. Ability to perform a comprehensive patient history and physical examination. Salary Range USD $66.55 - USD $87.00 /Yr.
