Power-Flo Technologies Mechanic in New Hyde Park, New York

Our Pump and Motor shop is seeking a general mechanic to support with pump and motor repairs.

Mechanic Responsibilities

  • Disassemble pumps and electric motors to determine cause of failure and what is required to repair.

  • Install replacement bearings, seals, shafts, and gaskets on various equipment.

  • Troubleshoot pump systems in the field using a multimeter.

  • Make repairs in the field to pumps, motors, and fans.

  • Use power tools, hand tools, and multimeter to repair pump system in the field.

  • Work with a helper to complete repair jobs both in shop and on the road.

  • Replace and wire electric motors at job sites.

    Mechanic Necessary Qualifications

  • Ability to work with a team and independently.

  • Competent use of hand tools, power tools, and electrical multimeter.

  • Basic understanding of pump systems and electric motors.

  • Understanding of mechanics.

  • A clean and valid NYS driver's license to operate company vehicles

    Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for up to 8 Hours

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds

  • Ability to work on elevated platforms

  • Ability to climb ladders

  • This position may require standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching and/or reaching

  • You may be exposed to dust, loud noises, and hot and cold conditions

  • Good hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills may be required for hand tools, power tools, and other machinery

    Hours

  • 7AM-3:30PM with overtime opportunities

    Salary Range: $18 - $37/hour (commensurate with experience, particularly pump and motor experience)
