About the role Department: Engineering Mentor's Title: Senior Engineer Start Date: May or June 2024 Compensation: Paid Duration: Summer 2024 Location: On-site Work Schedule: Up to 40 hours per week Responsibilities Support Product Development, Materials Development, and System/Application Engineering department activities. Prepare samples and perform mechanical, physical, material, and/or electrical testing on cable development samples or raw materials. Contribute to project teams as a team member and fulfill responsibilities as delegated by the Lead Engineer. Prepare periodic project and activity reports indicating progress of projects relative to plan. Prepare and deliver presentations to management on projects and R&D efforts as directed or assigned. Qualifications Basic knowledge of materials and mechanical test equipment and measurement methodologies. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organization skills. Engineering, mathematical, or statistical programming language is a plus (Mathcad, MATLAB, JMP, Minitab, or similar). Demonstrated ability to work in cross-functional, multicultural team environment and to understand and apply technical concepts is helpful. Have a winning attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to work in a fast-paced environment. Education & Experience Education: Student in an accredited Engineering or Science program working towards a degree in Engineering. Mechanical, Material, Chemical, Polymer, Plastics, Electrical or related engineering field preferred. Coursework in the following areas would be a plus: Plastics, Polymers, Materials Science, Analytical Chemistry, Process Chemistry, or similar.
