Job Description

MAUSD\'s Expanded Learning Program seeks creative and energetic individuals to lead afterschool play and enrichment-based classrooms with our Bristol, Monkton, Beeman, and/or Starksboro afterschool programs. Lead afterschool teacher candidates have ideally been AEEs at ELP for a year and are enrolled in 8 hours of approved training with a plan to complete afters school essentials or equivalent (see licensing regulations) or have previously exhibited skills in leadership and curricular design. AEELs may provide program training, fulfill special mentoring assignments, and be included in broader program involvement. Flexible schedules are available. This position is part time (1:00 - 6:00 M-F (or alternative schedules may include a couple days a week). While the afterschool program runs 3:00-5:30, AEELs are allocated planning and set-up time from 1:00 - 3:00 and 5:30-6:00) up to 25 hours per week and is paid at a rate of \$26.50 per hour.

Job Requirements

  • Required training: Regulation 5.4 After school Child Care Program Staff that work in the After school Child Care Program are required to have at least one of the following within the first year of employment: Vermont Afterschool Foundations Certificate or Vermont Afterschool Essentials Certificate or Vermont On-the-Job Training Certificate or Vermont Afterschool Professional Credential or Vermont Program Director Credential or Vermont Teacher Licensure or BA/BS or Associate\'s degree
  • At least1year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
  • Citizenship, residency or work visa required
