Indium Corporation Software Developer III in New Hartford, New York

JOB SUMMARY: The Software Developer III plays a significant role in our software development team, responsible for developing a vast array of enterprise solutions. This role involves collaborating with users and domain experts to gather requirements and working with peers to resolve business needs using tools like .NET, Blazor, React, SQL, and Visual Basic. The Software Developer III also proactively manages active and upcoming workloads, determines testing requirements, and actively seeks to improve user experiences, the development process, and security. In addition to technical responsibilities, this role champions peer-to-peer learning, collaborative code review, and fostering collective growth and learning.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (COMPETENCIES):

• Actively manage schedule, quality, and cost of team workload to meet timelines and deliverables

• Maintain clear and consistent communication with users and domain experts to elicit scope and requirements for entire projects

• Develop new solutions while leading solution design

• Enforce testing practices while improving testing methodology

• Maintain delivery and feedback pipelines while actively seeking improvements

• Maintain current architecture policies while actively seeking improvements

• Enforce internal security policies and actively mitigate potential risks

• Perform code quality assurance and cultivate a culture of knowledge sharing

• Keep abreast with latest development best practices and security standards

• Identify and clear existing and potential roadblocks for the development team

• Share curriculum/resources with peers for continued education

• Work with peers to implement solutions, share knowledge, and continuously improve

• Perform other duties or special projects as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field; Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred

• 6 years of related work experience is required; 8 years of related work experience is preferred

• Understanding of computer programming fundamentals and concepts

• Understanding of relational database concepts

• Strong internet research and problem-solving skills

• Customer service skills

• Provide own source of transportation for any local/day travel, including travel between Indium Corporation facilities

The salary range indicated in this posting represents the minimum and maximum of the range for the position. The actual range will vary based upon factors including, but not limited to, prior experience, knowledge, skill and education as they relate to the position’s qualifications, and internal equity.

The posted salary range reflects just one component of our total rewards package. Other components include health, dental, and vision insurance, PTO, retirement plan, volunteer opportunities, paid holidays, overtime opportunities, and many more.
