UPMC Occupational Therapist (OT) in New Castle, Pennsylvania

Provides occupational therapy assessment and treatment using advanced clinical skills in a specialty area of occupational therapy for patients referred to non-contracted and contracted facilities of the Rehabilitation Institute. Serves as a clinical resource for other staff members. May have an individual agreement with an academic institution for instructional services. Participates in research conducted within the Rehabilitation Institute.

Responsibilities:

  • Document all occupational therapy services, including initial assessments, follow-ups, and discharge summaries.

  • Co-sign occupational therapy assistant documentation every two weeks.

  • Communicate patient status updates to referring physicians and healthcare team members.

  • Complete charge and statistical reports to reflect accurate service delivery.

  • Schedule patients to meet productivity standards and ensure high-quality care.

  • Provide home instructions to patients and family members as needed.

  • Participate in clinical education by supervising students during internships.

  • Maintain professional licensure through ongoing education and professional development.

  • Rotate through treatment areas and actively participate in staff meetings and educational in-services."

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

Active license in practicing state required. CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

  • National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)

  • Occupational Therapist (OT)
