Work schedule is Monday through Thursday, 6am - 4:30pm.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Areas of responsibilities may include concepting, designing, and/or supporting many aspects of manufacturing equipment or process development within a global manufacturing organization.

  • Work closely with contacts within manufacturing plants to understand problems, develop robust solutions and/or create added value.

  • Work with project engineers to provide input for concepts or quote preparation as required.

  • Interpret mechanical design drawings for electrical requirements.

  • Responsible for the design layout, technology integration, and technical support of PLC, HMI, safety, servo, robot and/or vision-based hardware.

  • Design and development of PLC / HMI / Vision software applications to meet requirements and specifications. Software including, but not limited to: RSLogix 500/5000, FT View Studio, C-More HMI, SICK FlexiSoft Designer, AB Kinetix Servo System, Fanuc / Motoman robots and Cognex Insight Explorer.

  • Develop electrical design schematics and layout drawings in AutoCAD.

  • Coordinate technical review of design content with other designers, assemblers and technicians.

  • Submission and coordination of bills of materials to responsible Purchasing member.

  • Provide technical support to Assemblers and Technicians during the power up, configuration and debug of integrated systems to achieve functional requirements.

  • Help maintain existing design standards and define new continuous improvement standards.

Qualifications:

  • High School graduate or equivalent plus 10+ years of related experience required. Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical / Controls / Computer Science Engineering, or equivalent, or Technical Degree with experience developing integrated manufacturing equipment or systems preferred.

  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures for integration of automation into manufacturing environment.

  • Demonstrate sound analytical and decision-making process.

  • Outstanding communication skills to facilitate discussions within cross-functional teams.

  • Adaptability and ability to prioritize and support multiple projects at once.

  • Willingness to learn new technologies and take on tough challenges with energy and positivity.

  • Consistency and dedication in achieving quality results, even under variety of circumstance.
