Job Overview:

Reports to an Environmental Services Manager. To provide housekeeping/cleaning service that will support the highest possible level of cleanliness. Provide exceptional service to internal and external customers. Maintain an orderly and attractive environment throughout the facility in accordance to RWJ standards

Required:

  • Physical condition that allows reaching and general mobility within the department and to other hospital departments.

  • Manual dexterity is required

  • Visual acuity must be such as to enable accurate performance of essential job duties

  • Hearing and speech must permit direct and telephone communication

  • In addition, must be able to function under rapidly changing and stressful conditions

  • Sitting, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, some bending and lifting

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Shift Working, 2:30pm-11:00pm with weekend and holiday requirements

  • Days to work vary

  • Part Time

Essential Functions:

  • Acts in a professional manner as it pertains to positive guest relations

  • Responds in a pleasant, courteous, polite manner with everyone he/she comes in contact with

  • Demonstrates the knowledge/usage of all chemicals

  • Follows prescribed infectious control procedures in accordance with established policies and procedures using the prescribed methods

  • Maintains assigned cleaning equipment according to established procedures

  • Performs daily cleaning of all surgical procedural areas, patient care areas and non-patient care areas using prescribed methods

  • Performs daily turnover cleaning of all surgical procedure areas within prescribed time parameters with accuracy and consistency
