Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Research Project Assistant for the Department of Psychology within the School of Arts and Sciences (SAS). This position will play a critical role in ensuring the lab is prepared to resume in- person research activities.Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Manages daily activities and personnel in the lab, including managing files, databases, and physical and electronic materials relevant to the on-going study in an accurate and organized fashion.
  • Corresponds appropriately within the lab to other study personnel, and externally (e.g., recruitment company, business office, IRB).
  • Screens, schedules, and runs appointments for study participants.
  • Conducts assessments and other study procedures with standardized research study protocol.
  • Tracks, schedules, and conducts follow up appointments in accordance with protocol.
  • Assembles all participant data files (physical and electronic) in an organized fashion with great attention to detail and accuracy while ensuring participants' confidentiality is protected.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date databases, regularly updating participant tracking, data tracking, and payment databases.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and/or relevant research experience, and knowledge.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Good communication skills and computer literacy.
  • Experience compiling and organizing varied data.
  • Strong organizational, written, and verbal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two years of relevant experience in an administrative function, good communication and interpersonal skills, and computer literacy.
  • Experience working with SPSS, Qualtrics, and other data analysis software.
  • Prior coordination of clinical research.
  • Prior experience coordinating clinical psychology research.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as clinical skills.
Equipment Utilized
  • The Research Lab Coordinator will use software such as Excel, SPSS and Qualtrics for data management. This skill is not required to obtain the position though general analytic skills are strongly preferred.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Applicants will arrange own transportation to New Brunswick and should have a professional demeanor appropriate to a clinical psychology research setting and the ability to work effectively within a coordinated team.
