Posting Summary | Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow in Cancer Health Equity & Engagement at Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey.The Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey, an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, invites applications from motivated individuals to a post-doctoral scholar position in cancer health disparities and survivorship research. This position is designed to prepare researchers for careers as independent investigators engaged in cancer prevention, control, and disparities research. Our team has expertise in biobehavioral and cancer care delivery research in the areas of genetic risk communication and testing, cancer screening, health disparities and cancer survivorship. We are conducting several large NIH and American Cancer Society funded behavioral and health services trials (precision oncology, genetic counseling, and testing ehealth interventions, lung cancer screening, and mind-body interventions) in demographically diverse populations. The postdoctoral scholar will actively participate in these funded transdisciplinary studies, and contribute to the scientific aspects including study design, implementation, and dissemination of findings. The post-doctoral scholar will have opportunities to work on first authored manuscripts, develop new studies and to learn about grant writing including career development grants. The successful candidate will primarily work with Dr. Anita Kinney, who has a track record of sustained NIH funding and mentoring. The postdoc scholar will have opportunities to learn about cancer health disparities, randomized controlled and pragmatic trials, implementation science, ehealth interventions (e.g., AI enabled conversational agents), community participatory research strategies, and biomarkers.Among the key duties of this position are the following:
