Job Overview:

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a highly dedicated Clinical Care Technician for our Post Coronary Care Unit, in our New Brunswick Facility.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.

  • Basic Life Support (CPR) through American Heart Association

Preferred:

  • Previous nursing assistant experience or clinical experience from an accredited nursing program preferred.

  • Certified nursing assistant preferred.

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Night Shift, 24 hours per week, 11p-7:30a, includes every other weekend and holidays.

Essential Functions:

  • The CCT is a direct patient caregiver who assists patients with activities of daily living and provides nursing care to patients including taking vital signs, EKGS, performing phlebotomy, assisting or providing patients with bedside care, i.e. bathing, mouth care, skin care.

  • Providing patient care, based on physical, education, safety, and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients in assigned service

  • Providing for effective and safe patient outcomes through practice, judgment and critical actions

  • Ongoing communication with patients and nursing colleagues regarding status of patient s care

  • Participating in collaboration of our patient's plan of care from ad mission to discharge to ensure safe transitioning

  • Clinical skills: completing electrocardiograms and blood specimen collection via phlebotomy

  • Documentation and Charting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including vital signs, intake/output measurements, patient observations, and care provided,

  • Infection Control: Adhere to strict infection control protocols and maintain a clean and safe patient environment,

Follow proper hand hygiene practices and proper use of personal protective equipment,

  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team, including physicians, nurses, physical therapists, and other clinical staff, to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care,

Contribute to unit meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and professional development activities,

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a recognized Clinical Care Technician program or equivalent training is preferred,

  • CPR certification - American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers required

  • Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant is highly desirable,

  • Previous experience working in a healthcare setting preferred

  • Proficiency in performing ADLs and measuring vital signs accurately,

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact compassionately with patients and their families,

  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment
