The Rutgers Division of Intercollegiate Athletics sponsors 24 intercollegiate sports, comprised of 14 women's and 10 men's programs, that compete at the Division I level. The Scarlet Knights are members of the prestigious Big Ten Conference, the nation's premier academic and athletic conference, after officially joining the league on July 1, 2014. Known as "The Birthplace of College Football, Rutgers hosted Princeton on Nov. 6, 1869 in the first intercollegiate football game, with RU earning a 6-4 victory.
Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking an Assistant Athletic Director - Compliance for the Athletics department.Among the key duties of the position are the following:
  • Supervises all aspects associated with Bylaw(s) 11, 12, 13, 14, 16, 17, and 20 for a subset of sports, one of which will be the Football program, and liaison groups.
  • Articulates and interprets complex issues for internal and external constituents.
  • Creates and executes policies and procedures for enhanced institutional control consistent with NCAA and conference governance reform.
  • Assists in supervision of Compliance Coordinator, and intern(s).
  • Manages a comprehensive rules compliance program for internal and external constituents.
  • Executes specified Big Ten Conference reporting/exceptions and NCAA waivers.
  • Investigates and reports NCAA infractions.
  • Provides game day support for various sporting events as well as completing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelors degree.
  • Five (5) years minimum relevant full-time experience.
Certifications/Licenses
  • A valid driver's license would be required for this position; Use of personal vehicle in order to travel for business demands.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent working knowledge of NCAA Division I rules.
  • Sound working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, NCAA software & databases.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's or Law degree.
  • Working knowledge of ARMS or compliance software.
  • Prior Division I campus, Division I Conference Office, or NCAA experience.
Equipment Utilized
  • Use of a computer to include all Microsoft software, access to the NCAA Applications, ARMS and other compliance-related software.
  • Use of a cellular telephone.
