Staffed by our talented team of leading professionals, The Hospital of Central Connecticut provides a wide array of services throughout the region, caring for patients from birth through the end of life. *Duties * The Nutrition Educator provides state of the art medical nutrition therapy and diabetes education in a variety of settings to patients and their families/care partners, helping to optimize diabetes management. The Educator participates in the development of educational materials and serves as a resource for quality diabetes and nutrition information for patients and other health care team members. The Educator also uses an understanding of the principles of growth and development to assess each patients age specific needs and age specific treatment and care. *Education Requirements * B.S. Degree in Nutrition or a related field. * Registered Dietitian with the ADA. * CDE or CDE eligible or BC-ADM. Minimum Requirements * 1 year experience in diabetes nutrition or 3 years of education and counseling of patients with chronic disease. * Demonstrated competence in written and oral communication skills to individuals and groups. * Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities. * Excellent organization skills. Preferred Qualifications * Participation in local and national diabetes organizations. * Experience in a community health or ambulatory setting.
