The Job:

As a Manager, Global Tax Reporting, you’ll be part of our Corporate Finance Tax team working as a virtual employee. You’ll get to:

  • Assist with the quarterly and annual global tax reporting process in accordance with ASC 740, including current and deferred tax calculations, tax attributes, valuation allowances, business combinations and divestitures, indefinite reinvestment assertions, uncertain tax positions, equity compensation, SOX documentation, and financial statement presentation/disclosure in Forms 10Q and 10K.

  • Assist with trend analysis and forecasting of the global effective tax rate.

  • Collaborate with other members of the Stanley Black & Decker organization to achieve greater levels of effectiveness and engagement.

  • Supervise and improve the tax accounting processes and delivery schedule through automation.

  • Work with internal and external auditors on interim and annual audits.

  • Research and analyze the tax impact of new accounting pronouncements and tax legislative developments.

  • Develop and mentor junior staff members.

The Person:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting; Master's degree in Taxation preferred (or equivalent work experience); Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

  • 5-7 years of tax experience, preferably within the public accounting industry or publicly traded U.S. based multi-national companies with an emphasis in income tax accounting.

  • Prior supervisory experience and a demonstrated ability to lead and/or influence a team.

  • Strong working knowledge of ASC 740 Accounting for Income Taxes and related issues

  • Strong knowledge of U.S. Federal, State, and International (foreign) corporate tax concepts.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Strong ability to utilize project management and accounting best practices to organize and prioritize tasks and the tasks of other tax team members.

  • Strong work ethic and ability to partner in a collaborative, deadline-driven environment.

  • Have the ability, experience, and patience to drive process change.

  • Proficient with Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Experience with Longview (Provision) and enterprise software such as SAP, Hyperion or HFM is desirable, but not required.
