Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage Market/ Catering Operations - Manage daily operations of the market and all catering events. Monitor and maintain deli, juice bar bakery, meat and seafood and kitchen inventories and procure food from vendors. Manage cost controls and control expenditures. Responsible for product storage and transport needs. Schedule and train kitchen staff. Plan menus and staffing needs to ensure successful operations.

  • Menu and Food Preparation - Prepare food and cook for the market and company catering events. Collaborate with the General Manager and Director of Hospitality on special event requests. Plan, develop and create special event recipes and menus based on event type and skill level of kitchen staff. Modify or create menu items for market, deli, juice bar and catering events.

  • Oversee Quality, Health, and Safety Regulations - Lead staff meetings which includes discussions on food safety, quality issues and innovations. Ensure food quality throughout the market and catering events follow and meet all health and safety regulations. Ensure cleanliness of kitchen, prep area, and equipment is maintained.

  • Miscellaneous - Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years' related experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (Culinary or Catering)

Non-degree considered if 12+ years of related experience along with a high school diploma or GED

  • SafeServ Certificate andHazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as an Executive Chef or Sous Chef.

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of cooking practices and methods.

  • Good managerial skills.

  • Able to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.

  • Detail oriented, patient, and conscientious.

  • Able to follow procedures and processes with a cautious approach in decision making and to the standards of the market Communicate in a factual, polite, and professional manner.
