Coastal Community Action Inc. Weatherization Crew Member in New Bern, North Carolina

We are looking for a Weatherization Crew Member to join our team at Coastal Community Action! CCA is a private nonprofit corporation providing a variety of services to a target population of low-income children and families in ten counties in eastern NC, with a mission of empowering them to become self-sufficient.

What You'll Do:

  • Installs weatherization materials according to the North Carolina Weatherization Assistance Program (NCWAP) installation standards.
  • Performs pre and post Blower Door Testing on each project as per Weatherization guidelines.
  • Ensures all weatherization work is completed while adhering to lead safe work practices.
  • Ensures proper removal and disposal of material from each project is performed properly.
  • Maintains Agency's tools and equipment (i.e. vehicle, blower door, insulation machine, etc.) to ensure proper working order.
  • Tests combustion appliances to determine carbon monoxide levels.

What You'll Have:

  • Two or more years related experience and/or training in general construction
  • Acquire and maintain the following certifications: First Aid and CPR, Lead Safe certification, OSHA 10hr construction safety
  • Must have completed or be able to satisfactorily complete the Whole House Weatherization Training Certificate within the first six months of employment.
  • Must be able to work in small, tight and confined spaces.
  • Valid background clearance.
