D2 Government Solutions General Admin Assistant/HR Coordinator (Part-time) in New Bern, North Carolina

D2 Government Solutions (D2GS) is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a General Administrative Assistant/Entry-Level HR Coordinator at our New Bern, NC location. In this role, you will provide administrative support to various departments within the company while also assisting with basic human resources tasks. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a willingness to learn and grow within the HR field.

Responsibilities

  1. Administrative Support:
  • Answer and direct phone calls in a professional manner.

  • Greet and assist visitors to the office.

  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail and packages.

  • Maintain office supplies and place orders when necessary.

  • Assist with scheduling meetings and appointments.

  • Handle basic bookkeeping tasks such as expense tracking and invoice processing.

  1. Data Entry and Record Keeping
  • Enter employee data into HRIS (Human Resources Information System) accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Maintain and update employee records, including personal information, employment history, and performance evaluations.

  • Assist with filing and organizing HR documents both electronically and physically.

  1. Recruitment Support
  • Post job openings on various platforms.

  • Screen resumes and schedule interviews for potential candidates.

  • Assist with coordinating interview schedules and logistics.

  • Conduct basic reference checks and background screenings.

  1. Onboarding and Offboarding Assistance
  • Coordinate new hire orientations and ensure all necessary paperwork is completed.

  • Assist with the preparation of onboarding materials and employee handbooks.

  • Process paperwork for employee terminations and conduct exit interviews as needed.

  1. Employee Relations
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries regarding HR policies and procedures.

  • Assist in resolving basic employee issues or conflicts under the guidance of HR management.

  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in HR or office administration is a plus.

  • Previous administrative or office experience preferred.

  • Basic understanding of HR principles and practices.

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with HRIS systems.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.

  • Discretion and professionalism when handling confidential information.
