Ward and Smith, P.A. Creditors' Rights Paralegal in New Bern, North Carolina

Ward and Smith, P.A. is a growing full-service law firm with multiple offices throughout North Carolina. We are seeking two Creditors' Rights Paralegals.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: monitoring bankruptcy dockets and email notifications; drafting legal documentation including, but not limited to, pleadings in State and Federal Court, discovery, motions, notices, forbearance and loan modification agreements, and other case-related documentation; filing and serving State and Federal civil actions; filing and serving bankruptcy notices of appearance, proofs of claim, motions, objections, ballots and any other case-related pleadings; scheduling, calendaring, docketing and preparing for hearings. All paralegal functions are performed under the supervision of an attorney and paralegal supervisor.

Applicants must be multi-task oriented, well organized, analytical, have excellent written and oral communication skills, have great attention to detail, and be able to function well in a fast-paced environment.

Applicants should have at least two years' experience in handling all aspects of bankruptcy, as well as experience in the areas of civil litigation at the State and Federal levels. A working knowledge of State and Federal court systems and the ability to understand and follow Local, State and Federal Rules of court are a must. The successful candidate will have excellent math, English, writing and grammar skills. Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel a must.
