Business Unit Overview

Bob Evans Farms operates in multiple convenience foods categories within grocery and club. It holds #1 market positions in three major categories. This winning brand has been experiencing strong growth, a trend it's expecting to continue mostly through its leadership in the refrigerated dinner and breakfast categories. Bob Evans Farms products are distributed nationally in retailers throughout North America. Responsibilities This role is part of the BEF Quality and Food safety Excellence (QFSE) Function. Reporting to the Director of QFSE Manufacturing and Supply Chain, this role has network-wide responsible for implementation and on-going support of BEF QFSE compliance and continuous improvement programs and practices across BEF operated and supported facilities. This role requires 50% travel to the Bob Evans Foods manufacturing facilities. Provide manufacturing network-wide expertise and guidance for Company quality and food safety systems and programs by providing expertise in both areas to all levels throughout the organization Partner with manufacturing operations and supply chain leadership to provide support and solutions for situations involving Quality, Food safety and regulatory Compliance. Work collaboratively with corporate and plant teams to develop best fit systems (electronic or physical infrastructure) to support the various accountabilities of the QFSE function. This includes the sub-functions of E2E quality, quality in manufacturing and, and verification and compliance programs. Direct QFSE activities in the field to provide assessments, identify technical solutions and provide information in support of the projects. Provide the QFSE inputs for the development of specifications for product, processes, and raw materials. Develop and drive continuous improvement in the BEF Quality management system (QMS) and food safety plan (FSP). Analyze metrics data to assess and verify the robustness of the QMS and report or escalate to stakeholders. Provide technical support and solutions for situations or challenges involving Quality, Food safety and regulatory Compliance for new product development. Implement design standards for the systems that ensure they support effective and efficient management of quality, food safety, and regulatory compliance. Drive continuous improvement in Quality management system- specifically the development and use of electronic and physical systems. Assist in the building and expansion of technical and functional capability of the QFSE organization to optimize the use of systems. Provide technical support and recommend solutions for situations or challenges involving QFSE related systems, deviations to standards and results. Support plant quality and food safety practices as required by applicable auditing and standards service, ex SQF. Qualifications Degree in a field that ensures a high level of understanding of food science, food safety principles and quality management in food products. Minimum of 5 years’ Experience in Food Manufacturing leadership role, with a broad understanding of industry Quality practices. Familiarity with Regulations governing food safety and quality of BEF product portfolio. Certified in HACCP &/or PCQI.
