Job Description

Supervisor: Shipping & Receiving Manager

We are looking for an experienced Receiving Clerk to receive, inspect, and record shipments of raw material and products. You will be responsible for unloading trucks, checking the contents on the skids or packages to ensure they match the orders. Building custom skids as necessary.

You must have an eye for detail and have basic math skills. You must have adequate physical strength to unload shipments as well as the clerical skills to update records/travelers and follow up with suppliers and team members.

Job Responsibilities

  • Communicate with your co-workers, especially your manager

  • Building custom skids when necessary

  • Receive shipments by unloading trucks with forklift or by hand

  • Report any damaged shipments at time of delivery

  • Sign paperwork upon receipt if package not damaged

  • Verify packages according to order and packing list (quantity, quality, etc.)

  • Assume responsibility for returning unsatisfactory shipments or receiving replacements

  • Label deliveries and allocate them to their designated place

  • Maintain accurate records and assist in inventory control

  • Ability to change direction without question as priorities change due to customer demands.

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, and move about the facility.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as Shipping & Receiving Asst. or similar position

  • Experience in operating forklifts

  • Working knowledge of computer programs for entering data

  • Solid understanding of health and safety regulations

  • Basic math and recording abilities

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Great communication and interpersonal abilities

  • Detail oriented

  • Good physical condition

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Must have valid driver’s license and a good driving record.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
