ERL Inc. Process Planner / CNC Programmer in New Albany, Indiana

Based in New Albany, IN, ERL Inc. is looking for a Manufacturing Process Planner/CNC Programmer with at least 10 years of experience as CNC Programmer, fixture design, and manufacturing process development and improvement. You will be responsible for developing processes for current and new product production, designing fixtures, and programming CNC machines.  You will also be responsible for continuous improvement of current manufacturing processes and working with CNC machinists.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Developing and implementing process improvement ideas from the Engineering Department and CNC machinist and operators.

  • Shop support-giving clarification and general instruction of processes, programs, tooling, and fixtures.

  • Support Continuous Improvement projects to ensure products are made faster, easier, and safer.

  • Communicates and builds relationships with CNC operators and machinist.

  • Provide feedback, input, and support to continuous improvement.

  • Attend scheduled Engineering Meetings and provide meaningful input to projects.

  • Develop and Document routings, tooling, and fixtures for new and current production parts.

  • Design and model fixtures for new and current parts using Siemens NX CAD software.

  • CNC program 3-axis, 4-axis and 5-axis mills using Siemens NX CAM software.

  • CNC program 2-axis and dual spindle lathes with live tooling using Siemens NX CAM software.

  • Work with tooling vendors/suppliers to purchase tooling and work holding according to our specific needs and specifications.

    Job Requirements

  • At least 10 years’ experience in a process planner/CNC programmer role, in a manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to setup and Operate CNC Equipment.

  • Proficient with multiple CNC controls.

  • Read and Interpret blueprints.

  • Working knowledge of standard GD&T specifications and use of inspection equipment.

  • A track record of ethical behavior.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Analytical, problem solving, time management and decision-making skills.

  • Demonstrate teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Knowledge and experience of a CNC programming software.

  • Knowledge and experience in writing CNC programs directly using G-Code.

  • Experience with machine simulation and program verification (i.e. Vericut)

  • Experience with Tooling Management Software (i.e. TDM)

  • Experience using Siemens NX Modeling or CAM is preferred.
