J&J Family of Companies Senior Director DPS Spine & Mitek Global Planning in Neuchâtel, Switzerland

Position Summary:

The DPS Senior Director Spine & Mitek Global Planning is responsible for ensuring revenue delivery for the business at targeted service level, inventory and cost through execution of best in class

  • Sales & Operations Planning (including Integrated Business Planning) with all members of the value chain in Spine

  • Inventory Management for any working capital impacting Spine & Mitek, whether in the field or in the shared distribution centers;

  • Supply Network Planning including Distribution Planning and Collaboration with external suppliers such as Jabil;

  • Portfolio Management Planning tied to the Commercial strategic plan

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

  • (30% of the time) Chair Franchise Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process linking commercial, finance and supply chain partners – supporting Monthly, Quarterly and Annual reporting & business analysis

• Collaborate cross functionally to drive the 5 steps of the S&OP process, through financial integration, focusing on demand plan valorization, inventory management and overall business target setting.

• Responsible for maintaining senior leader engagement in the S&OP process to ensure that decisions are taken within the process.

• Govern the cyclical S&OP reviews with the appropriate Management Boards and facilitates the Executive S&OP forum

• Develop and governs S&OP policies, standards, guidelines, technology and procedures

• Work with the DPS S&OP lead to monitor and enhance the franchise S&OP process on a continuous basis

• Champion improvement efforts to increase S&OP maturity and enable transition to Integrated Business Planning (IBP).

  • (20% of the time) Drive Supply Planning

  • Develops capacity models for each plant and product line

  • Drives standardized methodologies for measuring the performance of worldwide manufacturing plants and distribution operations

  • Maintain a global capacity visibility to manage Manufacturing decisions

  • Leads the monthly Supply reviews

  • Lead all Production Planning resources in manufacturing location

  • (20% of the time) Lead Global Demand Planning

  • Produce a statistical demand forecast for baseline SKU with low MAPE for all regions based on their portfolio

  • Ensure consolidation and integration of regional market intelligence

  • Create a Net Requirement Demand for Spine sourcing product location to manufacture against

  • Netting with all inventory locations

  • (20% of the time) Responsible for execution of Spine and Mitek end to end planning processes to:

  • Ensure desired Customer Service Levels (OTIF at delivery per region

  • Optimize Inventory Levels (Days of Supply)

  • Deliver Cost Improvements (Overheads, Excess/Obsolescence, Manufacturing labor, distribution costs);

  • Maintain trade off across the franchise value stream

  • Ensure the Value Stream Franchise leader and team have information in order to make the best trade-offs to delivery KPI above;

  • (10%) Lead Spine and Mitek NPI Planning

  • Management of Product Lifecycle decisions via Monthly Portfolio Review Process – incorporating Demand, Investment and Inventory Assumptions

  • Maintain strong links between S&OP and NPI/PM processes


Required Minimum Education:

University Bachelors Degree or equivalent.

Required Years of Related Experience: 10+ Years related experience, minimum 5 years People Leadership

  • Experience dealing with Supply Chain, Commercial/Marketing, Finance and Operations important

  • Experience across at least two supply chain functional areas is essential

  • Experience with ERP (SAP/APO/SNP) & Advanced Planning Systems is preferred

  • Incorporates an integrated understanding of the end-to-end Supply Chain to anticipate cross-functional impacts, interdependencies, and trade-offs.

  • Has strong business acumen – Deeply understands the business; portfolio, markets, customers, challenges, demands

  • Has a good understanding of the financial flows and associated product flows, including tax strategies.
