POSITION: Network Services Engineer

*SALARY: *$32.40- $37.56 per hour

REPORTS TO: Network Services Manager

LOCATION: Information Technology Division, Nespelem, WA 

*Basic Functions: *Under general direction, is responsible for planning and designing the network infrastructure and enterprise network solutions. Responsible for troubleshooting, installing, implementing and administering network systems and providing Tier III support. Responsible for analyzing capacity issues and developing capacity planning models. Responsible for ensuring planned testing activities are executed and for developing network security guidelines. Exercises direct supervision over assigned staff

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

*Education and Training: *

  • Requires a High School Diploma OR GED with 96 months OR
  • Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university in Telecommunications, Computer Science, OR Information Technology WITH 48 months experience in Telecommunication, Networks, Computer Science, OR  IT related fields, managing network projects and experience in working with teams, developing work plans
  • Applicants for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility. Due to CJIS requirements related to system access, the following will result in being disqualified for this position: Felony Convictions, Felony Deferred Adjudication, Class A & B Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication, Class B Misdemeanor Convictions, an Open Arrest for Any Criminal Offense (Felony or Misdemeanor), and Family Violence Convictions.
  • CAE or JNCIE or CCIE
  • Network+ Certification
  • Security+ Certification  
  • A+ Certification
  • Must have and maintain Valid Driver License throughout employment

Requires expert knowledge of commercial enterprise-level tools and products to provide core network services including: firewalls, IPS/IDS, DNS, DHCP, web security, email security, VPN, and NAC.

Requires expert knowledge of VOIP telephony products.

Requires expert knowledge of enterprise system monitoring and management tools such as SolarWinds Orion Suite, etc.

Requires expert knowledge of Coaxial, fiber, and copper structured cabling for core, aggregation, distribution, and access layer networks.
