Job Overview

As an Estimator (60%), you will play a pivotal role in the success of our projects by accurately estimating costs and preparing bids for all phases of work. Your ability to manage resources effectively, communicate with stakeholders, and mitigate risks will be critical to the overall success of our projects. In the role as Project Manager (40%), working with the Project Coordinator and team, you will coordinate project schedules and estimates to ensure the successful execution of construction projects. Your ability to manage resources effectively, communicate with stakeholders, and mitigate risks will be critical to the overall success of our projects.

 

To succeed in this new role, you will:

  • Evaluate project plans, specifications, and site conditions to understand project scope and requirements.
  • Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for paving, grading projects, and drainage work, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
  • Coordinate and manage high level aspects of construction projects, including scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation.
  • Conduct thorough site assessments and evaluations to provide the superintendent with project guidelines and requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, and subcontractors to establish project requirements and expectations.
  • Meet with owner representatives, attend pre-bid meetings.
  • Communicate regularly with team to provide updates on project status and address any concerns or inquiries.
  • Review project performance and outcomes with teams to identify areas for improvement and implement best practices for future projects.
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates and proposals based on project specifications and client needs for review to SVP Sales.

     

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field preferred (combination of experience and/or certifications/degrees considered).
  • Proven experience as an estimator in the infrastructure construction industry.
  • Knowledge of Bluebeam, Gantt Charts, and BMPs for construction.
  • Strong understanding of construction techniques, materials, and equipment.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, OSHA 501) are a plus.
