Summary

HII Mission Technologies Division is seeking a Fighter Pilot Subject Matter Expert (SME) to work on a team executing integration efforts on the Modeling, Simulation, and Training environment at the Virtual Test and Training Center (VTTC) to support the U.S. Air Force Warfare Center, Joint Simulation Environment (JSE) team, at Nellis, NV. The SME will apply their operational knowledge of Air Force doctrine, aircraft capabilities, and tactics to prepare realistic aircrew training scenarios. Part of a team that provides on-site M&S support for the U.S. Air Force Warfare Center (USAFWC) and Air Combatant Command (ACC); Establish and deliver high-end Advanced Tactics, Training, and Test capability for Government personnel operating under USAFWC/ACC; Provide mission execution and support to broad range of Virtual Test & Training Center (VTTC) simulator activities and Joint Simulation Environment (JSE), including training combat/tactical warfighters, C4ISR/remote sensing capabilities integration and training, and battle-space awareness; Assist Government in expansion of centrally managed capabilities beyond Nellis AFB, providing distributed VTTC training support to other Service/Joint partner facilities, including the Distributed Training Center (DTC), and the Distributed Mission Operations Center (DMOC). #LI-MJ1

What you will do

Provide operational knowledge of Air Force doctrine, aircraft capabilities, and tactics to ensure realistic fighter training. This will include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide subject matter expertise during the planning and execution of VTTC Operational Training events.

  • Fly adversary air threat simulators in testing and training events.

  • Operate the simulator console for testing and training events.

  • Support the development, coordination, and integration of tactical events to maximize training.

  • Orchestrate tactical scenarios and constructive inputs for VTTC training events.

  • Create and modify mission-planning materials to ensure participants achieve maximum training.

  • Provide constructive and threat generation expertise for operational execution.

  • Provide instructor level expertise to help shape tactical training for participants.

  • Report issues related to stimulation software applications and provide basic trouble shooting support.

What you must have

  • Must have 15+ years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 13+ years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 19+ years relevant experience.

  • Current or previous experience as a fighter pilot or Weapons Systems Officer (WSO).

  • Must have a minimum five years operational air-to-air experience.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Must hold an active or current DoD TS/SCI Clearance.

  • Must have ability to work flexible schedule to support customer requirements.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

Preferred Requirements

  • Top Gun or Fighter Weapons School graduate.

  • Fighter instructor pilot or flight evaluator.

  • Fifth generation fighter experience.

  • Current experience working with DoD programs.

  • Previous DoD simulation training experience

  • Experience working with current Air Force programs, F35/F22 experience a plus.

Physical Requirements

Job performance will normally require only minor lifting and carrying of boxes of records or equipment.
