JOB REQUIREMENTS: Flexible Pick-Up Shift Nekoosa Caregiver Are you a passionate caregiver with a flexible weekly schedule? Would you be interested and available to pick up shifts as needed for a 24/7 home? This would be to assist with coverage for vacations, sickness, etc. No specific or guaranteed hours. Community Horizons is assisting a Nekoosa family with recruiting a caregiver for their adult nonverbal autistic son in his own home. This includes working 1:1 while providing comfort, safety, and supervision while learning this member\'s unique preferences and personality. Usual Hours In The Home: Monday Friday = 8am - 4pm, 4pm -10pm, 10pm 8am Weekends = 8am -12pm, 12pm 10pm, 10pm 8am Wage: \$14.00 per hour starting, with an increase after successful training. The ideal candidate will possess the following: Experience with autism is preferred but not required Willingness to learn and understand the needs of this member Patience, understanding, and willingness to let things just roll off your shoulder Preferred to have first aid or choking training Has experience or the ability to recognize seizures Has a valid driver\'s license Favorable background check Tasks Include but are not limited to: All activities of daily living for personal care as needed General Housekeeping Meal Prep Activities within the home and community during any daytime hours Oversight at night- this will be an awake shift for the safety of the member Community Horizons offers support for individuals enrolled in self-directed programs through Managed Care Organizations or IRIS (Include, Respect, I Self-Direct) throughout Wisconsin. Self-direction gives program participants a choice over who provides services and how they receive them.
