JOB REQUIREMENTS: Plan, direct, or coordinate the operations of public or private sector organizations. Duties and responsibilities include formulating policies, managing daily operations, and planning the use of materials and human resources, but are too diverse and general in nature to be classified in any one functional area of management or administration, such as personnel, purchasing, or administrative services. Review financial statements, sales and activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and to determine areas needing cost reduction and program improvement. Perform sales floor work, such as greeting or assisting customers, stocking shelves, or taking inventory. Oversee activities directly related to making products or providing services. Monitor businesses and agencies to ensure that they efficiently and effectively provide needed services while staying within budgetary limits. Manage the movement of goods into and out of production facilities. Manage staff, preparing work schedules and assigning specific duties. Establish and implement departmental policies, goals, objectives, and procedures, conferring with board members, organization officials, and staff members as necessary. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIREMENTS: ABO/Shopko OCE Certification required within 12 months of hire/promotion High School Graduate or equivalent 3 years of leadership experience or equivalent management experience with strong customer service focus (preferably in an optical or retail setting) Optician experience desired Proven ability to lead, coach and build relationships in a professional environment Able to direct and motivate a diverse teammate network Able to analyze and solve issues of varied scope: able to act decisively to implement solutions Solid organizational and planning skills Able to continuously monitor progress in relation to goal attainment Able to analyse financial data, recognize opportunities for improvement and formulate plans to address.
